This is the first attempt at creating a Fannotation video.
Tools used:
- Corel Paint Shop for popup images + text
- Serif MoviePlus for video editing + overlays
Brief overview:
- Download trailer from Youtube or request copy from Wikia. Currently am unable to download any movies from Wikia directly.
- Download in highest resolution possible.
- Watch movie, make notes about what slides to use. Keeping the number to around ten seems best, depending on video length, otherwise viewers might become annoyed at the frequency of the notes.
- Find a good png image to use for the notes. Preferably these would be a page-like image (scroll, whatever) that is recognizable as being from the franchise. Often these can be found on the developer's or game's official site.
- Make slides.
- Import video and slides into Serif. Place video on timeline and begin watching.
- Easiest is to pause the video where a slide should be, then add the appropriate slide. Use slider tool to adjust the length of how long the slide stays on the screen. Don't forget to size the slide accordingly.
- Preview render. If all is okay, then export as youtube. Again, best quality.
- At this point just upload to Youtube, though if this becomes assigned, hand off likely to Peter for Ooyala.
